Sparta Municipal Airport is the only airport in Randolph County. It was upgraded back in the early 90’s I think? so that it can handle larger aircraft. I think? it can now handle all but the biggest of aircraft if necessary. All I know is that it has 2 sizes of runways one 2450' x 135' and one 4001' x 60'. You might need that info if your emergency landing.

The airport is mainly used for charter aircraft, air cargo, crop dusting, and it is the staging area for helicopter airlifting medical patients.

Hunter Field as it is also called was named after the Hunter Brothers who set a Flight Endurance Record of 427 Hours.
